“Hole” Lot of Dough: Baseball Team Launches Creative Homer Hole Promotion

Grab yourself a cup of coffee and get ready to read about a seriously fun way a minor league baseball team is showcasing the sponsor of their season-long Homer Hole promotion.

After securing a local doughnut shop as the sponsor of the team’s Homer Hole contest, a Midwestern minor league baseball team will be placing an enormous doughnut on the outfield wall as the target.

That’s right, if a member of the team hits a homerun though the “doughnut hole”,  a lucky fan will win $20,000, paid for by Odds On Promotions.

“Homer Holes are HOT this season”, stated Linda Thomson, Sports Promotions Specialist with Odds On Promotions.  “As long as the target opening meets the appropriate specifications, you can be as creative as you’d like.  And, depending on the type of baseball promotion you’re running, Odds On can even customize and a ship a target template to you.”

While using a “donut hole” was clearly a great way for this team to create an affordable big dough promotion that showcases the sponsor’s business, it also presents a great way to “brainstorm” additional sponsors…

Automotive/tire companies  –   Have fans pitch a baseball through a giant steering wheel or tire.

Jewelry stores – Talk about a great way to give away a ‘diamond’ ring, tennis bracelet or necklace!

Home Improvement or Hardware Stores – Sponsors and fans could go ‘nuts’ over any number of home improvement products from washers and windows to circular saws!
