Millions In Play At Gulfstream …

Creative Racino Cross Promotion …

This January during the eighth annual running of the Sunshine Millions™ – one of thoroughbred racing’s richest and most exciting events – Gulfstream Park gave race fans an added incentive to play in their casino with a little help from Odds On Promotions.

Every hour from Noon to 9pm, the casino randomly selected a lucky casino player and gave them the chance to win $1,000,000  using Odds On Promotions’ Lucky Envelopes games.  If a player could select a winning combination of three envelopes that added up to $1,000,000 they’d take home the prize and Odds On would pick up the tab!

According to Odds On Promotions’ Casino Rep Bob Milinkovic, “Customized gameboard promotions are an ideal way for racinos to increase foot-traffic and maximize slot play on major race days.  One of my favorites, Place, Show, Win The Dough … is perfect for tracks because of the racing theme; however, this one also works as a great floor promotion for casinos – as well as for bars – during the Triple Crown –  the Derby, the Preakness, the Belmont Stakes – and of course, the Breeders Cup.”

Promotion Aimed at Graduating Seniors a Big Success

Dover, Del. – To make the most of their participation in Senior Day at the University of Delaware, Price Scion in New Castle gave graduating students the chance to win a brand new Scion, paid for by Odds On Promotions, if the last six digits of their Social Security number matched the last six digits of the displayed Scion’s VIN (Vehicle Identification Number).

According to Sasha Walsh, Director of Marketing for Price Auto Group, “This is a young audience – graduating seniors – so we put a Scion on display.  We had the Seniors  complete a survey and then they got a chance to see if they had the matching numbers. There was a huge line and as they waited, they got a chance to speak with our sales staff. This was a very successful promotion for us. We collected 400 emails in roughly a three hour time span.”

While there was no grand prize winner, those who participated didn’t go away empty handed. The dealership handed out a number of promotional items provided by Scion.

$1,000,000 Rally 4 Charity

Men Take a Swing at Guinness World Record, Million Dollar Prize
Milford, Conn. – Isidro Martinez of Stratford and Paul Coorssen of Milford attempted to break the Guinness World Record™ for the longest tennis rally and win $1,000,000, paid for by Odds On Promotions, as part of the 3rd Annual Rally 4 Charity fundraiser at Milford Indoor Tennis. Martinez and Coorssen won the right to go for the record after hitting 5,916 consecutive strokes in a qualifier. While the two men tallied a staggering 6,858 consecutive shots in about an hour and a half, an unofficial world record for such a short time period, it wasn’t enough to beat Rally 4 Charity organizers and world-record holders Angelo and Ettore Rossetti who have set the bar high with a giant 25,944 consecutive strokes.  “Win or lose, it was about the charities,” stated Coorssen, and on that front the event was a success, raising around $10,000, the biggest amount to date.  According to World Record holder and Rally 4 Charity organizer Rossetti, “The million dollar prize did help us to capture more publicity – which is good for the charities as well as for tennis. We were very happy with the service from Odds On Promotions. Zak is always very organized and professional.”

Barton County Community College Foundation Flushes Out New Donors

Sporting Clay Shoot Helps College Triple Grant Funds

Great Bend, Kan. –   To raise money for their faculty mini-grant program, the Barton County Community College Foundation (BCCCF) held a sporting clay shoot featuring the chance to win a John Deere Gator ATV, sponsored by Great Bend Farm Equipment and Randy Hayden, President of the Alliance Insurance Group.

“We were looking for a new fundraiser. We already do a golf tournament and have a very successful auction,” explained Darnell Holopirek, executive director of Institutional Advancement for the BCCCF. “This event touched a different group of people and based on the response, we’ve clearly tapped into something.”

To incent participation and encourage early registration, the first 100 registrants were eligible to win the $10,000 Gator ATV, paid for by Odds On Promotions, if they could score a 100. While no one achieved the grand prize winning score of 100, a few shooters came close, with one scoring a very impressive 95.

Considered golf with a shotgun, the shoot took place at the LaSada Sporting Clays Club and drew a total of 143 participants – 43 more than the first year making it the second largest event in the state. The event also raised $7,800 for faculty mini-grants, which was three times the amount raised during the first year.

According to Randy Hayden with Alliance Insurance Group, “I’ve been working with Mike Maloy with Odds On for a few years now. We’ve done several good promotions – a dice roll for a Harley, a Prize Vault, and golf. This one was really well received. And I understand it was a different audience that the college wouldn’t have normally connected with.”
