Golf Putting Winner Scores $5K at NKU Basketball Game

Wishing you were watching Tiger Woods instead of Tiger King? Well, you’re in luck! Because we’ve got a can’t miss golf putting winner video for you!

See how golf putting winner Michael Meier of Edgewood, Ky nailed an impressive 94-foot putt and won $5,000, courtesy of Barleycorn’s, and paid for by Odds On Promotions.

Golf Putting Winner - Michael Meier

Meier won the prize at half-time during the Northern Kentucky University men’s homecoming basketball game after he was randomly selected via a registration form, to participate in the Barleycorn’s $5,000 putting contest. He nailed the shot, sending the entire arena into a frenzy and landing the substantial cash prize.

“I have been watching the contestants over the last couple of years and many have gotten so close. The hardwood is so much faster than an actual green so everything has to be in perfect alignment to sink it,” noted Joe Heil, Barleycorn’s owner and longtime NKU Norse basketball sponsor. “This putt had the speed and the accuracy. It was thrilling to watch!”

Half Court Shot Promotion Winner Scores $10K, Impresses the Pros

Storrs, Conn. – Imagine the pressure of taking a half-court shot at half-time during a big UConn Women’s basketball game. Now imagine making that shot in front of not only Rebecca Lobo, but Kobe Bryant too. Well, that’s exactly what half court shot promotion winner Asher Iglesia, a full-time student at UConn, did last March. Check out Iglesia’s prize-winning shot!

Half Court Shot Promotion Winner - Asher Iglesia

Iglesia, who was a track and field athlete in high school, won the $10,000 courtesy of Wells Fargo, and paid for by Odds On Promotions, in a half-court shot contest that took place during the women’s basketball game at Gampel Pavilion between the UConn Huskies and Houston Cougars.  And, this wasn’t just “any” basketball game – it was the game at which UConn retired the jersey of Rebecca Lobo.

Iglesia learned about the promotion, which was designed as a student sports loyalty reward program, via email. The more games a student attended, the more chances they got to be selected for a chance to make the prize-winning shot.  After nailing the shot from half-court, Iglesia put his track and field skills to the test, running around the court in celebration.

Golf Contest Winner Scores $5K in Dice Roll

Fairbanks, Alaska – Congratulations to golf contest winner Stewart Thompson of Fairbanks who recently won $5,000 courtesy of Explore Fairbanks and MAC Federal Credit Union and paid for by Odds On Promotions.

Thompson won the cash prize after he rolled a set of 4″ dice and got three “MAC Federal Credit Union” logos during a pre-tournament reception at the Wedgewood Resort in Fairbanks.

The dice roll, which was a new addition to the 19th Annual Morris Thompson Memorial Golf Classic, gave six randomly selected golfers (two on Saturday at the reception, and four on Sunday at the golf course) the chance to roll the dice and win prizes. Had Thompson, or any of the other five contestants rolled three “Explore Fairbanks” logos they would have won $20,000, also to be paid by Odds On.

The tournament was established by the Doyon Foundation and takes place annually at the Chena Bend Golf Course in Fairbanks. It is a fundraiser for the Foundation’s Morris Thompson Scholarship Fund, an endowed fund benefiting Alaska Native higher education students. This year’s event raised over $119,000. Since inception of the event, the Foundation has awarded 202 Morris Thompson Memorial competitive scholarships totaling $479,180.
