DePaul Student Wins $10,000 in His Slippers

Koy, a sophmore accounting major, not only won the big bucks, he ended up appearing on the evening news after making the impressive prize-winning shot in his favorite pair of slippers.

The half-time contest gave five DePaul students the chance to each win $10,000 if they could sink the half-court shot. During the first half, five students were randomly selected to participate using the Blue Demon app, but it was Koy who shot last that ended up being the night’s big winner.

DePaul University promoted the $50,000 Half-Court Shot Contest on various social media channels in order to increase student attendance at a midweek game between the Blue Demons and the Creighton Blue Jays.

Casino Player Lands $20K Finishing Bonus; Odds On Pays

Osceola, Iowa – Congratulations to Joyce W. who scored a $20,000 Finishing Bonus during the Lakeside Casino’s “$120,000 Harvest of Gold” Slot Tournament. Joyce won the bonus prize, paid for by Odds On, after she placed in the top five during both rounds of the slot tournament.

While Lakeside Casino awarded thousands of dollars in free play for players who finished in the top twenty positions during each of the two rounds held during the November slot tournament, the casino worked with Odds On Promotions to get maximum value from their marketing and promotions budget by offering every participating player the chance to win $100,000 for scoring in the top three and $20,000 for finishing in the top five of both rounds of tournament play.

According to Chris Gardiner, Odds On’s Eastern U.S. Business Development Representative, “Incorporating a Finishing Bonus can be a very effective way to maximize your marketing budget during a challenging time of year. You can turn a $5,000 event into $50,000 or $500,000 event – without having to increase your prize pool liability.”

Performance Bonus Promotion Pays Off

Reno, Nev. – This season a tennis apparel company has rewarded one of their brand ambassadors an impressive performance bonus promotion reward not only once, but twice, after he landed in the finals of two ATP events.

The performance bonus agreement rewards the tennis player cash incentives based upon their placement during a variety of tennis events taking place through December 2021.

To date, the player has received one bonus payout after reaching the finals of the Newport ATP 250 in July, followed by a second payout after reaching the finals of the Citi Open, a prestigious ATP 500 event.

But thanks to performance bonus coverage from Odds On, the sportswear company doesn’t need to worry if their ambassador continues to finish well – because Odds On will be there to reimburse them for every qualifying performance between now and the end of the year.

According to Odds On’s Risk Manager, Zak Woodhead, “Performance bonus coverage is a very effective tool for brand marketers, allowing them to offer big incentives to spokespeople, social media influencers and/or brand ambassadors without incurring additional financial risk. It also presents an opportunity for insurance agents to expand their lines of business.”

Dadeville, Ala. – Imagine winning $1,000,000 – or a brand-new bass boat – just for doing a little fishing. For the second year in a row, OGS Fishing Tournaments gave anglers the chance to win over $1,000,000 in cash and prizes in an innovative 13-week “virtual” tagged fish contest called Crank 4 Bank.

From April 1st until July 4th, anglers could purchase a $100 entry, register on the Fishing Chaos app, and submit photos of the fish they caught on Lake Martin for a chance to win cash and prizes. In addition to winning prizes based on the size of their catch, if an angler caught a tagged fish, they were eligible to win additional prizes if their tag matched one of preselected “lucky” tags.

“It’s our second year doing the event,” explains Vivian Autry, co-owner of OGS. “We tagged 200 fish and if you were registered you got the chance to win a million dollars, a bass boat, a Chevy pickup truck, or $1,500. We’re going to do this next year. But I think we’re going to up the ante a little bit and maybe there might be a $2 million fish floating out there in the water.”

Want to make your next tournament, fundraiser, sales promotions, or special event a million-dollar attention-grabber? Want to run a tagged fish contest of your own? Odds On can help. We have hundreds of creative ways to help you capture headlines, drive traffic and increase sales. Email or give us a call today at 888-827-2249.

No-Hitter Promotion = $37K for Lucky Fan

Milwaukee, Wisc. – When Carlos Rodón pitched a no-hitter for the Chicago White Sox against the Cleveland Indians this Spring, he wasn’t the only one celebrating. That’s because for a lucky listener of the White Sox flagship station, Chicago’s ESPN 1000, Rodón’s no-hitter meant winning a 2021 Nissan Rogue, courtesy of Nissan, and paid for by Odds On Promotions, as part of a no-hitter promotion.

The contest, which was promoted on-air and via social media, prompted fans to visit the website NissanNoHitter.com to register for a chance to win a Rogue if the White Sox pitched a no-hitter.

On Wednesday, April 14, left-hander Rodón threw the first no-hitter of his career (and came just two outs shy of a perfect game) in an 8-0 win over the Indians, ensuring that one lucky Chicago fan would win a new ride.

That’s when Matthew Serlovsky of Orland Park, Ill. was notified during a live broadcast of the Carmen and Jurko Show that he was the winner of a brand new Rogue.

“Nissan is a powerhouse brand as well as a great partner of ours, and the White Sox have some powerhouse pitching. This no-hitter will go down in history, and now a lucky ESPN 1000 fan will think about it every time they get in their new vehicle,” Good Karma Brands’ Chicago Market Manager, Mike Thomas said.

Having had such great success, Good Karma Brands and Nissan extended their promotion. So, if Rodón or any other White Sox pitcher throws another no-hitter this season, they will be able to giveaway another Nissan… and Odds On will be there to write the check!
