That’s right — a poker run promotion can even be held in the dead of winter, by using a snow machine, or even skis!  Have your poker run contestants drive/ski to all 5 sponsor locations pick up their cards and at the final stop, have contestants enter their 5-card hand into Odds On’s Lucky Hand Poker Verification machine.  If their hand matches our preselected winning hand, they’ll win up to $1,000,000 and Odds On will write the check!  And remember, the best part of any fundraising promotion is that you decide how much you’d like to charge your participants!

Ice Melt Prediction
Take notes from this rotary club in Colorado and let your contestants make the call as to how long (down to the very second) they think it will take for a particular structure to fall through the ice next Spring.  This winter, you’ll have contestants write down the day and time, down to the second, they think the “ice” will melt.  You’ll reward the top 3-10 people who come the closest with a secondary prize and the chance to win a giant insured prize by entering their “lucky time” (XX hours, XX minutes, XX seconds)  into Odds On’s handheld verification unit.  If any of your qualifier’s  times match the lucky pre-selected winning time they’ll  win up to $1,000,000 and Odds On will pay out the prize!   Odds On can help you adjust this promotion for any body of water that freezes … just give us a call today.

RBC Decathlon Insures Football Target Toss

football target toss - RBC Decathlon

Mark Rubin, Wall Street’s Best Athlete, raised $9,438 for pediatric cancer research.

On July 29, 2012, Wall Street came together at Columbia University’s Wien Stadium to raise money for the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and to crown Wall Street’s Best Athlete during The RBC Decathlon with a football target toss.

The RBC Decathlon, which recognizes and rewards fundraising alongside athletic prowess, gave qualifying participants the chance to prove their skills in such events as pull-up, bench-press and the 40-yard dash.  Adding to the excitement, one lucky decathlete even got the chance to toss a football and win a $170,000 Aston Martin Vantage convertible, courtesy of Aston Martin Long Island.

In the Aston Martin Long Island Football Throw, each competitor was given 3 tosses and were scored based upon both distance and accuracy of their shots.  For example, a 50-yard throw that landed 5 yards from The Decathlon’s target would have been recorded as a 45-yard throw.  The decathlete with the longest toss, Michael Bissmeyer, won the the chance to throw the football through a target opening and win the Aston Martin.  While Bissmeyer didn’t quite have the perfect spiral, he did head home with bragging rights for having the longest, most accurate toss of the day.

Of course the really big news from this event was how much money was raised for the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center!  The RBC Decathalon raised a very impressive $1.278 million to support pediatric cancer research.

“To incorporate a game-of-chance as a component to this fundraising event elevates the competition and level of intrigue.  Working with Odds On Promotions and Zak is great; the process is simple and straightforward,” notes Dave Maloney, Executive Producer of the RBC Decathlon.

For more information on this football target toss, be sure to check out The Decathlon’s Facebook page… and if you’re interested in insuring a football target toss of your own, feel free to give Odds On Promotions a call today for a free, no-obligation quote at 888-827-2249.  You can also email us at any time.
