Golf Contest Worth $25K Insured at Golf Academy

golf contestLooking for a golf contest that will give your clients and customers something to talk about?  Then you’ll love this putting contest  story, which comes to us from a golf academy in the West, who teamed up with a local sports bar in order to achieve a few key sales and marketing objectives for both companies.

Prior to the promotional date, individuals who visited a local sports bar during Monday Night Football games received a raffle ticket.  At the end of the promotional period, 16 individuals were chosen via raffle to participate in the insured golf contest held at the golf academy: a 3-putt-combination putting contest, insured by Odds On.

Each finalist had the opportunity to make a 10, 30 and 43-foot putt; however, it was a process of elimination.  Those who made the 10-foot putt proceeded to the 30-foot putt.  Those who holed the 30-foot putt proceed on to the final 43-foot putt.  All 3 putts had to be successfully completed in order for a finalist to win the insured prize — $25,000, paid for by Odds On Promotions.

While unfortunately, no one was able to hole all 3 putts, there were some close calls and both companies — the golf academy and the sports bar — were able to better advertise their businesses.

Promotion Winner: Damen Gonzales Wins $10K in Dice Roll Contest

promotion winner - dice rollSeekonk, Mass. – DiParma Italian Table has been serving fine Italian fare to folks in New England for over 30 years, but when they teamed up with Rhode Island’s number one coupon magazine, Community Values of Rhode Island, they ended up serving one lucky diner $10,000, paid for by Odds On Promotions.

In a promotion designed to increase awareness and drive traffic to the restaurant’s Seekonk location, DiParma Italian Table gave readers of Community Values the chance to roll a set of four customized dice, featuring the DiParma logo, and win $10,000 or one of five consolation prizes: $3 off any entrée; BOGO (buy-one, get one) half-off lunch or brunch; free appetizers with entrée; and $10 off dinner for two.

After reading about the promotion, promotion winner Damen Gonzales visited DiParma and entered for a chance to win. On December 7, Gonzales got the call letting him know he was one of the 10 lucky finalists. On December 8th, Damen rolled the four 1” dice and received four matching DiParma logos, winning the giant $10,000 prize, just in time for the holidays! Watch the winning dice roll.

According to Tom Holt, with Community Values, who helped to create this winning promotion for advertiser DiParma, not only is Gonzales featured on DiParma’s February ad, but “DiParma is already talking about giving away a car next year!”
